Mum, Dad, me and a very small apartment...
I've not posted in two months, so yeah...
My folks are a few hours away from arriving at Kansai Airport and so I'll be heading into Sannomiya in a few hours to meet them at the bus stop.
This week is basically the middle of the rainy season, although there's not been a lot of rain recently. I'm told that this year is expected to be quite a mild season, so hopefully that bodes well for us. Thursday and Friday are forecast to rain and be about 26 degrees each with the rest of the weekend and next week being 25-27 degree with cloud.
Today is my first day of leave, which, in hindsight, wasn't necessary due to the time they're arriving and I'll go back to work on Thursday next week. Something I've been contemplating for some time now is getting a new camera. I couldn't decide if I wanted a 'real' one that would take incredible shots (an SLR) or a compact one (which is a third the size and almost half the price). I settled on getting a pretty compact Canon one that's a little bigger than the typical mobile phone. I'm very happy with it so far, but will really be putting it to the test over this next week as we head of sightseeing around Kansai.
The current plan is to head on day trips to Kyoto, Himeiji Castle and over to Nara as our main stops. The rest of the time will be spent around Sannomiya and Kobe itself. In total, there're 6 - 6 1/2 days they're here for that we can make days of.
I've spend the last half of today finishing up the cleaning of my apartment. It's looking quite nice for once but is definitely going to shrink with my folks both staying here.
I'll leave it here and (probably not) update throughout their stay with some spiffy photos and whatnot.
