The Luminarie

I went down to the Luminarie last weekend and took some shots and videos.

I've not ever seen so many people in one place before, I think. They had a queue that was made of several roads that were all fenced off. There was no traffic allowed in the area, of course, and it was just a river of people. And that was just the queue. I fail at explaining how it was...

What is the Luminarie? It began as a small commemoration to lift the spirits of the city after the "Great Hanshin Earthquake" of 1995 that levelled the city. It's since become an annual event that's attracted hundreds of thousands.
